On the 11th of September there was a special symposium celebrating 25 years of FD/MAS research at the National Institutes of Health. In a lovely overview the full area of FD/MAS research was covered. From the Discovery of G Variants as the Cause of FD/MAS by dr Allen Spiegel, to Fibrous Dysplasia: A Skeletal Stem Cell Disease by Pamela Robey to FD Bone Biology and Experimental Models by prof Mara Riminucci.  The many clinical studies throughout were shown by doctors Allison Boyce and dr Michael Collins, whom ended with the news that he is going to retire from the NIH in the coming months.

Patient advocacy groups and patients were represented during the symposium, highlighting the direct connection between the research, clinical care and patient involvement.  On behalf of the consortium Adrienne McBride and Martine  Dekker-Grootveld provided a presentation.
