The International Consortium for Fibrous Dysplasia/McCune-Albright Syndrome (ICFDMAS) is pleased to announce the appointment of Rolf J. Ledal as a new member of its Board of Directors.
Rolf is one of the founding members of the Norwegian FD/MAS patient association (FDMAS Norway, www.fdmas.no) and played a key role in establishing the organization in 2016, following his own diagnosis with craniofacial fibrous dysplasia in 2012. In 2024, he also contributed to founding Rare Bones Norway (RaBoNor), a collaborative forum bringing together rare bone disease patient associations across Norway.
Before dedicating himself to patient advocacy, Rolf served for 30 years in the Norwegian Defence Forces, retiring as a commander in 2016 after a distinguished career in radar-based weapons systems, logistics, and union representation. He currently serves as General Secretary of the Norwegian Brain Tumour Association (NorBTA), where he promotes patient involvement in research and leads a dedicated three-person secretariat.
Rolf’s extensive leadership experience, combined with his commitment to rare disease advocacy and patient-centered research, make him an invaluable addition to the ICFDMAS Board.
We warmly welcome Rolf and look forward to working together to further strengthen international collaboration within the FD/MAS community.
